Open Carry- Only legal with a concealed carry license or Texas License to Carry (LTC). The minimum age for open carry is 21 years old or 18 years old for active-duty military.
Concealed Carry – Legal with a Texas LTC or concealed carry permit either from Texas or from a state that Texas honors. Texas LTC’s are issued to both residents and non-residents who are at least 21 years of age after the completion of a 4-6-hour training course. In addition, they must pass a written examination and a shooting proficiency demonstration.
